The Author

The Author of this blog is a Christian home-educating parent.  As a Christian, she is therefore a Creationist, ie, she believes that God is the Creator.  Unfortunately, the word Creationist has come to carry a very narrow and particular definition among certain Christians, namely, that the universe was created 6000 years ago in six twenty-four hour days and that no evolution took place.  Under this definition, Evolution and Creation are diametrically opposed to each other.  Not all Christians believe this, and the author of this blog does not believe that evolution is contradictory to the Christian faith.

She decided to write reviews for the Jonathan Park Audio Adventure series after a friend loaned them to her and she was appalled at what was being touted as ‘science’. As first, writing the reviews started out as an opportunity to exercise her research and thinking skills. However, over time, as she listened to more episodes, the idea that many people are listening to them and accepting them as truth started to get real depressing.

The author tried being a young-Earth Creationist for a while.  This included being fearful of anything that did not hold to a strict literal interpretation of the Creation account in Genesis.  This fear expressed itself as scorn.  The author is personally acquainted with people who scoff, ridicule and mock anything that even whiffs of ‘evolution’ and she is ashamed to admit that she used to hold such attitudes herself. Not only did she hold such attitudes, but she taught her children to act and think the same way.

She is now doing penance.
